My List

Well, I've never:

1) Been to France
2) Watched an episode of 'Friends' by choice
3) Been attracted to atheletic looking men
4) Snogged anyone under the mistletoe
5) Worn a bikini
6) Had a day without feeling miserable at least once
7) Cycled to work
8) Understood the Dewey decimal system
9) Wanted to swim with dolphins
10) Pretended I was a different nationality just so I could get horribly drunk and celebrate their saint's day.

Ah the Dewey decimal system. Thats that thing for libraries isn't it? I've never really understood the Harvard referencing thing we had to use for essay references.

Or the Dewey decimal system either.

I don't understand why numbers and decimals have to be involved with books.

Can they not just group the things by subject and then in alphabetical order of author? Surely that's simpler.

That Dewey person must have thought they were really clever. Ohh I know how to confuse people who read books because I hate people who read books mwhahaha

I can't do numbers either. Although I did just discover how to use pythagoras to work out how far away something is for a java game, I'm doing an online tutorial about it. I was so pleased when I understood it!!
What would be your favourite thing about the Dewey decial system, POE?

I can't do numbers. You know the way letters jiggle about for dyslexic people, well numbers jiggle about for me and even when I try to use a calculator I often end up putting in the wrong numbers and it takes ages to add up a list of numbers. I don't know if there is a name for that though, perhaps dysnumeric. I'm certain I've made that up. That's why words are better because you can make up new words but you can't make up new numbers.

I see POE. Are you a librarian? Or a Libra. Its easy to get them confused.
I think there is a name for that Catpee. What is Dyspraxia? Is that to do with numbers?

Dyspraxia is : The impairment or painful functioning of an organ

Is it? That's odd, I could have sworn it was something to do with numbers!!

I have discovered what dyslexia with numbers is called. It's called Dyscalculia apparently. I found some symptoms http://www.dyscalculia.org/calc.html
I don't think I have it though because I don't have any problem with musical instruments haha I think I'm just crap with numbers. Although I do have quite poor name/face retrieval as they put it. I often recognise people and know I've spoken to them before but can't remember their name or who they are. That happened just yesterday in fact.

Actually, now that I look at the symptoms properly, I have all the maths ones, quite exactly in fact ohhh, but not the other stuff. I can remember numbers ok and my sense of direction is ok. And the bit about cash transactions and not being able to figure out what change to give back, that happens to me at work a lot and I get stressed when the customer is standing waiting.

And it says about being able to do maths things well one day and not at all the next. I get that. I have the occasional day when numbers like me and they all go where they are supposed to. That happens about four times a years I think.

That's weird, because I'm rubbish at recognising people that I've only seen a few times, and also I'm bad at finding my way around places and I have to make maps to remind myself. And I'm not great at adding up.
